Despite the elegance of the shoes, their wild whimsy seems to be lost on the completely confused clothes horses.
“What in Shrek and Donkey is going on here Alexander McQueen,” asked one TikTok content creator, who compared the designer to the animated ogre and his four-legged sidekick.
“For $2,800 you can be a noble horse, honey,” she joked as she zoomed in on a pair of leather boots from the unusual collection. “I can’t.”
However, for the fashionistas who can, each hot heel style boasts a horseshoe silhouette, a rounded toe with horseshoe detailing, silver finished studs and a leather sole.

“I need them to mop the floors while I walk the catwalk,” joked one digital savvy guy.
And though McQueen’s barnyard-inspired boots have won the same neighbors, Fans of the avant-garde completely understand.
“Yes, I would wear this to the grocery store, to the club, to my friend’s son’s bar mitzvah—everywhere, really,” model Achieng Agutu told Vogue about the stilettos. “A girl with a ponytail is a girl who knows what she wants.”
“Just like me.”
